Blu Ray Services

• Blu-ray is a high-definition optical disc format. By using a blue-violet laser, as opposed to the standard red laser to read and record data, Blu-ray allows for the storage of high-definition video and large amounts of data.

• Standard DVDs are recorded and read using a 650nm red laser. Blu-ray uses a 405nm blue-violet laser. This shorter wavelength allows the laser to be focused with more precision, which allows more data to be packed in the same space. Hence the reason Blu-ray discs can contain so much information while maintaining the same size as a standard DVD which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD

The VHS to DVD Services Difference

Not all vhs-to-dvd and film-to-dvd video transfer/conversion services are the same. Some companies churn out video conversions in a very impersonal and mechanical way. For videotape-to-DVD conversion they might have a room full of automatic VCRs and DVD recorders which require very little human interaction. For film-to-DVD conversion they might just "project" onto a wall and videotape it with a camcorder. Their DVD cases andzlabels will be unattractive, text-based, and something you won't care for.
